Aurora Dewhirst

I worked for the University of the Pacific as a bilingual secretary, first at Elbert Covell College (1970—1975) and then at the School of Education (1978—1983). I have fond memories of UOP, especially of the Covelianos, the dedication of the faculty, and the friendship and support of my coworkers.

After leaving UOP, I worked for the Catholic Diocese of Stockton in the Religious Education Department for 12 years. Presently, I work for Instituto Fe y Vida as a bilingual copy editor, and I also work as a freelance interpreter and translator.

I have three adult children: William, who works in Silicon Valley as a chemical engineer; Kenneth, who lives in Stockton and is continuing his education; and Edwin, who is an aircraft mechanic working in Alabama.
